new design layout with css

this is the new site, a new look, blah, blah, blah.

you’re here for one of two reasons. 1. you know me and want to see what’s up or 2. you’re very bored.

this is just a weblog. it will have some insightful entries as well as some interesting photography (at least i think it’s interesting). if you have comments you can post them here or email me. suggestions, ideas or links you want me to post should all be emailed to me. i’ll read all the mail and maybe they’ll end up here.

this is more of an experiment in content management. the site is re-designed to separate the content from the design (for easier maintenance) and for adaptability on almost any platform. you can browse this site and if you’re browser is out of date, it will still display the content just not real fancy. also if you browse this site on a pda or phone. the site will load just the content and strip all the style sheets that keep this stuff together. that eliminates making multiple versions of the site.

hey why does this site plain (black text on greybackground)??

it’s because you’re using an out of date browser. it will look better if you upgrade to a current browser that supports web standards. the upgrade link will take you to the new versions of Netscape, Explorer, and Opera. thanks.

i’m still learning so there are plenty of bugs i’m not aware of. email me with any bug reports and i’ll get on it.

tools of destruction:

- i work on an apple powerbook g3,

- graphics are handled with macromedia fireworks

- photos are shot with either nikon coolpix 990, nikon f70, lomo, olympus epic stylus, polaroid

- photos are scaled down and framed in adobe imageready. (no other manipulation)

- html is handled in both BBEdit (for the cascading style sheets) and macromedia dreamweaver (for some layout help).

- this site is powered by unix, perl, css, insomnia, seinfeld, law and order & x-files reruns, caffeine and love.
