prada, miss thang and career choices

pradawindow.JPG

after watching a movie one night, i was waiting in the taxi queue and it looked like it was going to be a while. i noticed the prada store behind me, i’ve never been in. it was closed, so i took a peek through the door. it was all lime green inside, it was like an ad in wallpaper magazine. so of course, i take out the camera take a few snaps, then out comes ‘miss thang’ (actually it was a guy) telling me i can’t shoot the store. for fear of getting my eyes scratched out i put the camera away. he then proceeded to ‘arrange the window’ from outside the store, directing his assistant/intern/whatever to move the shoe ever so slightly a few millimeters to the left or to the right. it took him 15 minutes to do the one window. i mean, it’s one window. this isn’t macy’s during xmas time, it’s not like he’s displaying the hope diamond at the smithsonian. to be fair, i was in hong kong, waiting for a bus in front of a ‘miu miu’ store (for the laymen, a store with very very expensive women’s shoes/clothes) and a woman took 20 minutes to arrange ONE pair of shoes in a huge window. it was like watching a mr. bean episode. back to now and miss thang, i’m still waiting for my taxi. i thought i should snap a pic of her, i mean him to remind me of my career choices in the future. p.s. my shoe fetish is yet unexplained.
