Car commercial for Citroen. We were here for three days, the last day was filled with sand storms.
The ridges (known as “Yardang”) are formed by wind erosion. When the wind picks up and blows through the ridges, it causes a sound similar to many people or animals “howling”. Locals thought the area was haunted and named it “Devil City”. It is a beautiful location and more productions are shooting here, it was recently shown in the feature film “Hero”.
